INVITATION FOR MEMBERS TO EXHIBIT AT CAREER DIRECTIONS CAREERS EXPO 2024

Career Directions Careers Expo 2024 is back for it’s fifth year and we are excited to bring another opportunity for our fellow Wheatbelt organisations to promote their employment and training opportunities to local and regional secondary students and jobseekers.

Career Directions Careers Expo is a free community event delivered by Directions Workforce Solutions bringing together a diverse and regionally focused careers event to Northam to support the development and retention of local talent, both current and future.

The last Career Directions Careers Expo attracted over 70 exhibitors and featured employers from across a wide range of industry and business sectors including engineering, policing and emergency services, agriculture, resources, retail and wholesale, automotive, aviation, health, defence, building and construction, and more. This was complemented with a range of employment services, and training and further education providers. It attracted over 500 attendees including secondary students from nine regional high schools in addition to local job seekers of all ages.

This year we hope to build on that past success with even more opportunities for our local students and jobseekers to gain practical information all in one place.

The event provides exhibitors with an inclusive opportunity to promote themselves as career and training options locally and engage with potential current and future candidates about what they have to offer, both now and as secondary students plan for their transition from school to the workforce or further education, all in one convenient place on one day.

The event promotes specific engagement with exhibitors through an expo-wide activity and encourages exhibitors to provide additional opportunities for interaction and engagement including activities, videos, discussion topics, and interactive displays.

The event runs for 4 hours (10am-2pm) on Wednesday 31 July 2024 at Northam Recreation Centre and there are both indoor and outdoor locations available. There is no cost to exhibitors to participate.
The event will be promoted widely across the region in the leadup to the event and immediately following but several schools have already confirmed their school groups attendance. Past exhibitor feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and exhibitor spaces are already filling. We are keen to have as many local employers involved as possible so wanted to reach out to your members now to give them plenty of opportunity to participate.

We would be delighted if you would share this opportunity with your members. You members can also request an exhibitors information pack from event organiser Brenda DeAtta at bdeatta@directionswa.com.au or call Brenda on 9622 6500 for more details.
