Role Title:
Board Member

Organisation:
Regional Early Education and Development (REED) Inc

Location:
REED is based in Narrogin WA, however Board Members are sourced from both metropolitan and regional WA

Role description:
Regional Early Education and Development (REED) Inc is an emerging organisation formed to support the sustainability and quality of early childhood education and care services for regional children, families and communities. The REED model supports child care services throughout regional WA by offering a centralised administration team delivering high quality support and guidance to over 20 small centres operating across Western Australia, and providing professional development pathways to those who work in the regional child care centres.

Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) has a critical role in children’s development and important economic and social benefits for families and communities.

REED has an exciting opportunity available to those interested in becoming volunteer Board members and who can help guide REED as it transforms the way in which child care services are delivered across regional WA.

To help achieve a balanced and broad skill matrix of competencies we are looking for professionals with an interest in child development, education and care, and/or business strategy and development. Those with a legal, finance, regional childcare or marketing communications background will be well regarded, as would applications from individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

The REED Board meets every two months. Meetings are generally hosted from Perth or a regional centre such as Narrogin or Northam. Board members can choose to attend meetings in person or electronically. The Board is supported by two mandated sub-committees with additional committees established to meet short term needs as required. It is anticipated that Board members will also elect to sit on at least one of the REED sub-Committees, who meet a minimum of four times per year.

If you are interested in becoming part of REED as we embark on an exciting growth phase, then we invite you to express your interest by completing a questionnaire and providing a CV demonstrating your expertise and the contribution you could bring to the REED Board.
